  • Advanced registration required

A lecture by Alison Petretti, Director and Partner of the Arader Galleries in New York City, focuses on botanical works by women artists. Many female artists needed to paint to earn a living. As the field of botany grew, there was a demand for plant illustrations, detailing the minutiae of their structure. Flower painting thus became a respectable and ladylike pastime. The lecture will be followed by a boxed lunch.
